The overall goal of the effort is to develop stewardship of ecosystems both at the state, the private sector and the local population to balance the environmental benefit and the need for economic growth. This will be achieved by working with structures for community governance, integrated landscape planning and the management, protection and restoration of ecosystems. Among the beneficiaries are the local population, especially women, young people and small farmers who gain access to knowledge, financing and capacity building that provide them sustainable income. The private sector integrates environmental and ecosystem values and strengthened social inclusion in their work and in their value chains. Institutional structures and systems of governance improve coordination and integration enabling sustainable and inclusive management of natural resources. Innovative financing takes into account the value of Nature-Based Solutions to balance growth with ecosystem resilience and social inclusion and thereby stimulate uptake. Critically important ecosystems are protected, preserved and restored, thus providing them ecosystem services required for economic growth, social prosperity and protection of Biodiversity.
