The present Law lays down provisions relating to land use planning and construction activities. In particular, the purpose of the Law is to use economically the soil according to the accepted principles of land use planning and to ensure and promote sound land use planning. Furthermore, all activities shall be carried out with a view to sustainable development. The text consists of 59 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Cantonal guidelines (II); Plans of municipalities (III); Development, land consolidation (IV); Provisions of good neighbourhood (V); Construction rules (VI); Building application and permit (VII);Transitional provisions (VIII); Provisions on enforcement, legal protection, penalties and final provisions (IX).
