This Act provides with respect to spatial and land use planning at national, regional and district level in Ghana. It established the Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority and the Land Use and Spatial Planning Development Fund.
These Regulations reform the law in Ghana with respect to the granting of timber rights and related matters. They (a) regulate the identification of land suitable for the grant of timber rights, (b) regulate the terms and conditions for small and large scale timber rights, (c) regulate other sources of timber, and (d) provide for a legality licensing scheme.The Forestry Commission shall identify lands suitable for grant of large scale timber utilisation contracts. The Regulations set out the procedures for the identification of lands (including owner consent).
This Act establishes the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands, in accordance with article 267 of the Constitution as a body corporate, defines the functions of and designates the head of the Office as the Administrator of Stool Lands. The Act also concerns creation of interests in stool lands and ten percent of the revenue accruing from stool lands shall be paid to the Office to cover administrative expenses and the remaining revenue shall be disbursed in specified proportions by the Administrator.
This Act requires the amounts specified in Schedule 1 to payable as stamp duties in respect of the matters stated respectively in relation to them. An instrument relating to the creation or transfer of an estate or interest in land, submitted to the Commissioner for assessment of the chargeable stamp duty, shall be accompanied with a statement in the form set out in the Schedule 2. (2) The statement shall be signed by the grantee, transferee or by a person authorised in writing to do so by the grantee or transferee.
This policy provides the framework for addressing problems and constraints to ensure equity in land allocation and holding and to maintain a stable environment for the country's sustainable social and economic development.
This Act provides with respect to local government and selected matters of local development and planning in Ghana. It, among other things, provides for the creation of district assemblies, metropolitan assemblies, district planning authorities, the Local Government Service, the District Assemblies Common Fund, Regional Co-ordinating Councils, and the Inter-Ministerial Co-ordinating Committee on Decentralisation. For purposes of Local governance, the districts in existence immediately before the commencement of this Act shall continue to exist.
This Act provides that the Concessions Act, 1939, other than section 30, Part 4 and section 40, shall cease to apply to stool lands.
This Act allows the President to create, in the name of public interest, public statutory rights of way. Section 2 specifies the works for which statutory rights of way may be created. If a person is not satisfied with compensation assessed by the Minister for the establishment of a right of way, the matter may be referred to a Tribunal to be established under subsection (5) of section 6 by the President. These Regulations amend the Land Title Registration Regulations 1986 (L.I. 1341) in relation with fees for the registration of a mortgage or charge to secure future advances and for application of first registration of land and registration of land previously registered under the Land Registry Act, 1962 (Act 122). Furthermore, in various regulations the words “Part VIII of” are deleted.
