    The present Act validates the Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of Nova Scotia for the Settlement of Questions respecting Indian Reserve Lands. Section 4 establishes that the Governor in Council may do, or may authorize a member of the Executive Council to do, every act necessary or proper for the exercise or enjoyment of any power, privilege or right conferred upon or vested in the Government of Nova Scotia under the annexed Agreement.     The present Act lays down provisions relating to the process for landowners and conservation organizations to protect private lands through conservation easements. For the pupose of the present Act a «a conservation easement» is the result of an agreement between a private landowner and a designated conservation organization. The easement places restrictions on the land for conservation purposes. The text consists of 18 sections.

The Act lays down provisions relating, inter alia, to property liable to taxation and propert exempt from taxation, appointment of assessors, powers and duties of assessors, assessment roll.     An Act to encourage the cultivation of blueberries.

    The present Act lays down provisions relating to the cultivation of blueberries. Furthermore, the Act provides the framework by which blueberry cultivating, picking and marketing shall be effectively carried out. Section 3 establishes that the Minister of Lands and Forests may, in his discretion, upon the application of a blueberry association formed under this Act, set aside an area or areas of Crown lands as blueberry commons.     The present Act provides for agreements between land owners to build, widen or deepen ditches to remove run off from their properties. The agreements apply to new owners of the same lands until the municipally appointed engineer decides otherwise. The ditch cannot affect other owners’ lands without their consent. The Act provides dispute resolution mechanisms for disputes between owners who have entered into these agreements. The municipal clerk is the contact person in the case of disputes. The text consists of 28 sections and 1 Schedule.

    The purpose of the present Act is to: a) provide for the protection of beaches and associated dune systems as significant and sensitive environmental and recreational resources; b) provide for the regulation and enforcement of the full range of land-use activities on beaches, including aggregate removal, so as to leave them unimpaired for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations; c) control recreational and other uses of beaches that may cause undesirable impacts on beach and associated dune systems.

    The present Act lays down provisions relating to the clarification of land titles. Part I deals with land titles clarification areas. Section 3 establishes that where the residents of an area of a municipality are in necessitous circumstances as a result of lack of property development in the area and where there appears to be confusion as to the ownership of land, the Governor in Council may designate the area as a land titles clarification area.
