La présente loi met en exécution, entre autres, la loi du 20 juin 2001 sur le développement rural et l’ordonnance 7 décembre 1998 sur les améliorations structurelles dans l'agriculture (ordonnance sur les améliorations structurelles) (OAS)5).
This Regional Law establishes the particulars of turnover of agricultural land, including privatization of agricultural land pertaining to public and municipal property. It determines that minimum land area of consolidated agricultural land plot shall be two hectares, while minimum land area of consolidated agricultural land plot in case of irrigation by stationary sprinklers or drained land shall be no less than 50 hectares and in case of irrigation by mobile sprinklers shall be no less than 10 hectares.
Article 4 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Maximum agricultural land area that can be in ownership or in land tenure with the application of other land rights of citizens performing family farming shall be 2,5 ha”.

The scope of this Law shall be to prevent speculation in agricultural land and preserve traditional forms of farming; to create conditions for the formation of rational land holdings and land consolidation; and to promote the rational use of agricultural land. It shall not be applicable to agricultural land of subsistence farming, land used for horticulture and gardening, and inherited land and land owned by the way of restoration of legal rights of ownership.
This Regional Law sets forth the modalities of allotment in ownership free of charge of plots of land pertaining to public and municipal property to multi-child families, and also establishes minimum and maximum land areas of the aforesaid plots of land. Multi-child family shall be considered family with three or more children less than 18 years of age. The aforesaid plots of land in inhabited areas shall be allotted for housing construction and subsistence family farming. Allotment of the aforesaid plots of land shall be performed once-only.
Article 1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Transfer of irrigated public land stock to category of land under perennial fruit growing species shall be prohibited”.

The present Act provides for the self-government of the Mcleod Lake Indian Band. For the purpose of the present Act “MLIB Agreement" means the McLeod Lake Indian Band Treaty No.
The present Act lays down provisions relating to the improvement of agricultural structures and the safeguard of agricultural and forestry industries. The text consists of 39 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: Land transactions (I); Inheritance proceedings (II); Proceedings (III); Amendment of existing legislation (IV); Additional, transitional and final provisions (V).
This Act makes provision for the recognition, protection and registration of community land rights and also provides for conversion of community land, special rights and entitlements with respect to community land, environment and natural resources management of community land and settlement of disputes relating to community land.
This Decree consisting of 55 articles aims at regulating the agricultural land reclamation in Syria. Part I deals with the rules for the Agricultural Land Reclamation while Part II deals with the Distribution of irrigated reclaimed land. Article 1 states that the Minister of Irrigation may, in accordance with the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and after taking the opinion of the General Union of Farmers, declare a public benefit in the reclamation of lands in any area of the Syrian Arab Republic.
