These Regulations, established by Royal Decree pursuant to Act No. 71 of 2008 and the EEA Agreement Annex XX No. 1 letter a (Directive 2014/52/EU) and no. 1 letter g (Directive 2001/42/EC), seek to ensure that consideration for the environment and society is taken into account during the preparation of plans and initiatives, and when considering and on what conditions plans or initiatives may be implemented.
Bouvet Island, Peter I Island and Queen Maud Land (45 ° east - 20 ° west latitudes) is subject to Norwegian sovereignty as dependency land. Norwegian civil and penal laws together on the administration of justice apply to Bouvet Island, Peter I Island and Queen Maud Land. The King may issue regulations on environmental protection on Bouvet Island, Peter I's Island and Queen Maud Land (art. 2). Additional provisions of this Act shall be determined by HM the King, whereby HM may implement amendments when and where required.
The Act partly amends Act No. 3, in particular the Title which is now reading: "Act No. 3 of 27 February 1930 relating to Bouvet Island, Peter I's Island and Queen Maud Land"; article 7 remains unchanged.

"Forest for domestic use" is a forest owned in common property and which serves to satisfy the needs of supply of wood for domestic purposes of the owners. "Use for domestic purposes" seems to include use of timber for carpentry and construction of houses. Such forest shall be managed by a board of members in accordance with rules laid down by the present Act. The board of a forest for domestic use shall be controlled by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry. For each forest for which no exemption is in force a management plan shall be adopted by the Department.
In adherence to article 3 of Forest Act, the Climate and Environment Ministry delegates authority for the protection of four specific (see Regulations) Oslo outdoors areas.
The purpose of this Regulation is to ensure protection of Kristiansten Fortress, in Trondheim. This permanent protection scheme shall enable the keeping of the Fortress’ parts (external and internal) and its related land intact. This will ensure the protection of the historical and cultural heritage values of the Fortress from 1681 until today. Article 1, section 2 indicates a map of Kristiansten Fortress' buildings, walls, foundations, and other parts.

This area's topography includes large proportion of old forest without recent forestry interventions, of both pine and spruce, including small ponds, marshes and streams. The outdoor recreational area covers 805 acres, with boundaries in scale 1:10 000 and marked in the forest. The following safety rules shall apply to the area: vegetation is protected from damage and destruction. Planting or seeding of trees and other vegetation is prohibited.

The purpose of this Regulation aims at conservation the quality of outdoor recreational areas without interfering their topography, the presence of swamps, lakes, streams, and hills. The area offers a large proportion of old forest without recent forest interventions. The area also consists of larger cultural heritage and a diverse wildlife. The outdoor recreational area covers a total area of 3 674 acres. The boundaries are shown in a map at a scale of 1:15 000. The exact boundaries of the area shall be marked in the forest.
The purpose of this Regulation is to preserve the scenic value of outdoor recreational terrains in areas rich with wildlife within Oslo. The boundaries of the outdoor area is shown in map at a scale of 1:12 500 of September 2013. The exact boundaries of the area shall be marked in the forest. Administrative authorities may grant permission to create paths and trails, ensure sport activities do not conflict with conservation objectives, forest management initiatives in certain sub-areas should develop a more friendly forest area in line with conservation objectives.
