A l’instar de la plupart des pays sahéliens, l’économie sénégalaise reste encore très dépendante de l’agriculture. Celle-ci peut être décomposée en trois volets dont l’importance varie d’une zone écogéographique à une autre. Dans les zones comme la vallée du fleuve Sénégal, elle a cédé un peu le pas à l’agriculture irriguée, à la riziculture et à la culture légumière introduite par la puissance coloniale.

The question of land and agrarian reform has become the most pertinent post-conflict agenda at this historical juncture while the country is undergoing a restructuring process. State restructuring is about the restructuring of the economic and political power. In Nepal, the land ownership pattern still determines the economic prosperity, social status and the political power of any individual or family. Therefore, the question of land and agrarian reform has been so critical issue at this point of time.

In this paper, we use an actor-oriented perspective to explore the nature and extent of conflict and negotiation with regard to land use and tenure among the Iban of Sarawak. The Iban are shifting cultivators who have long been involved in smallholder cash crops.

The approval by the public of the Constitution at the referendum on August 4, 2010 and its promulgation on August 27, 2010 heralded a new dawn of governance in Kenya. Through its broad provisions, it is expected that it will spur social and economic development and secure the land rights of all Kenyans, by among others guaranteeing them ownership, control and access to natural resources.

The Department of Human Settlements reports that between 1994 and 2009, 2.94-million housing units and serviced sites have either been built or were under construction. By September 2010, 1.44-million of these properties were formally registered on the Deeds Registry. This means that about 50% of subsidy beneficiaries had not yet received formal title for their housing. Moreover, since 2005, the percentage of subsidy properties that have been formally registered per year has plummeted.
