Land tenure issues are becoming increasingly important worldwide. Problems such as high population pressure, increases in resource degradation, food shortages, transformations of political systems and regional and supra-regional resource conflicts have brought the land issue to the public's attention.
Methodology of calculation of damage inflicted to the state by violation of land legislation establishes rules for calculating payments for compensation of losses caused by damage, destruction and contamination by chemicals, including land pollution by unauthorized disposal of industrial, household and other waste, and applies to any land category, regardless of location and ownership.
The purpose of the present Law is to establish legal basis for keeping state land cadastre, use of cadastre data for economic development, ensuring guarantees of rights to land plots, rational use, restoration and protection of soil. The document consists of 26 articles. Article 1 determines the purpose of the present Law. Article 2 regards legislation on state land cadastre. Article 4 establishes basic principles of keeping state land cadastre. Article 5 regards state management in the sphere of keeping state land cadastre.
The history of Burma’s jade mines in the West is a brief one. While hundreds of different reports, articles and even books exist on the famous ruby deposits of Mogok, only a handful of westerners have ever made the journey to northern Burma’s remote jade mines and wrote down their findings. Occidental accounts of the mines make their first appearance in 1837. Although in 1836, Captain Hannay obtained specimens of jadeite at Mogaung during his visit to the Assam frontier (Hannay, 1837), Dr. W.Griffiths (1847) was the first European to actually visit the mines, in 1837 (Griffiths, 1847).
A dynamic model of deforestation and agricultural expansion in the Philippines is developed to elucidate the economic factors driving current land use trends and determine the efficacy of prevailing public forest management regulations.
