   The Act consists of 99 sections which are divided into 6 Parts: Preliminary (I); Land Holding (II); Control of Land Use (III); Land Management (IV); Land Tribunals (V); Miscellaneous (VI).Sections 3 declares all land in Uganda to be vested in its citizens and divides land tenure systems into 4 categories: customary; freehold; mailo; and leasehold. Section 4 defines these titles in detail. Mailo tenure is a form of tenure that permits the separation of ownership of land from the ownership of developments of the land made by a lawful or bona fide occupant.

   The Land Code makes provision for the regulation of "land relations" and its purpose is to secure rational use and protection of land, the protection of the environment, and "the equal development of all forms of economic activity in Tajikistan" (Preamble). Other laws regulating land relations may be enacted on the basis of this Code.Land is declared to be in exclusive ownership if the State in article 2.

   This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of organization, protection, conservation and management of protected areas with a view of conservation of unique and typical natural complexes and objects, wild fauna and wild flora, and ecological education of the population. Land areas that are integral part of protected area s under management by state and municipal environmental institutions shall not be subject to privatization. Regional protected areas can be instituted either with or without land expropriation from landowners, landlords, land tenants and lessees.

   This Act makes provision for a wide variety of matters regarding public and private land and community land (as defined respectively by Articles 62, 63, 64 and 260 of the Constitution), and in particular provides of the sustainable administration and management of land and land-based resources.    The present Act lays down provisions relating to the cultural heritage in the province of New Brunswick. The Act strengthen the province’s ability to conserve heritage sites and objects by establishing the Crown as legal owner of heritage objects, and prohibiting the alteration of heritage sites.
