    The present Regulations are made under the Land Registration Act. In particular, the Act provides for the efficient and correct enactment of the afore-mentioned Act.     The present Act validates the Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of Nova Scotia for the Settlement of Questions respecting Indian Reserve Lands. Section 4 establishes that the Governor in Council may do, or may authorize a member of the Executive Council to do, every act necessary or proper for the exercise or enjoyment of any power, privilege or right conferred upon or vested in the Government of Nova Scotia under the annexed Agreement.     An Act respecting conservation easements.

    The present Act lays down provisions relating to the process for landowners and conservation organizations to protect private lands through conservation easements. For the pupose of the present Act a «a conservation easement» is the result of an agreement between a private landowner and a designated conservation organization. The easement places restrictions on the land for conservation purposes. The text consists of 18 sections.

    The present Regulations are made under the Conservation Easement Act. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the designation of eligible bodies. Section 4 establishes that if the Minister is satisfied that an organization complies with the present Regulations, the Minister may approve the application and recommend to the Governor in Council that the organization be designated and that its name be added to Schedule “A”. The text consists of 5 sections and 1 Schedule.

    An Act to encourage the cultivation of blueberries.

    The present Act lays down provisions relating to the cultivation of blueberries. Furthermore, the Act provides the framework by which blueberry cultivating, picking and marketing shall be effectively carried out. Section 3 establishes that the Minister of Lands and Forests may, in his discretion, upon the application of a blueberry association formed under this Act, set aside an area or areas of Crown lands as blueberry commons. The text consists of 15 sections and 1 Schedule.

    The object and purpose of the present Act is to provide for the most effective utilization of Crown lands by: a) the application of proven forest management techniques to enhance productivity on Crown lands and to provide for an increasing harvest of better quality forest products; b) requiring that leasing and licensing arrangements on Crown lands are providing for equitable stumpage rates, adequate investments in forest improvements and improved market access for privately produced wood; c) the integration of wildlife and outdoor recreation considerations in the forest management planning

    The present Regulations are made under section 13 of the Beaches Act. The Regulations lay down provisions relating to the safeguard of beaches. Section 4 establishes that the the Minister may enter into a management agreement with the owner or occupier of land adjacent to a beach. Section 7 lists activities which are prohibited on a beach, such as remove mineral, fossil, sand, gravel or other object of natural interest. The text consists of 15 sections.
