    This Order amends the Natural Resources (Prescribed Areas) (Prohibition of Categories of Enterprise, Construction and Development) Order, 1996 to provide for transitional arrangements with respect to a permit for an undertaking any category of enterprise, construction or development to which the requirement for a permit did not apply before 1 April 2015 and to modify the list of enterprise, construction or development to which the principal Order applies.

    This Act concerns control of holding of interests in land in Montserrat by foreigners, i.e. persons other than a person belonging to Montserrat (as defined in section 2(2)(b) of the Immigration Act). Subject to the provisions of this Act, neither land in Montserrat nor a mortgage on land in Montserrat shall, be held by a person not belonging to Montserrat, and any land or mortgage so held shall be forfeited to Her Majesty.

    This Ordinance provides with respect to land title surveys in the Islands. Persons that carry out a survey shall be an surveyor authorised under this Ordinance by the Governor. Any surveyor working for the government shall be deemed to be authorised as long as he or she is employed by the government. The Governor may from time to time order public surveys. The Ordinance also provides for powers of authorised surveyors, compensation of damage done during survey and regulation-making powers of the Governor.

They also concern resolution of disputes between the Chief Surveyor and authorised surveyors, the presentation of surveys and checking and authentication of surveys by the Chief Surveyor.

    This Act concerns the development and management of geothermal resources for purposes of obtaining geothermal energy. It establishes the Geothermal Resources Advisory Committee. “Geothermal energy” means the energy derived or derivable from and produced within the earth by natural heat phenomena, and includes geothermal water. The Geothermal Resources Advisory Committee shall advise the Minister on development of geothermal energy.

    This Act amends the Property Tax Act by repealing and replacing the First Schedule, which specifies the rates of tax for various kinds of properties. It also amends the Registration (Strata Titles) Act in section 19 on the total unimproved value of the parcel as apportioned by the unit entitlement of the strata lot.

    This Act provides for certain aspects relating to disposal of public property and other matters relating to public asset management. The objects of this Act are to promote— (a) the principles of accountability, integrity, transparency and value for money; (b) efficiency, fairness, equity and public confidence; and (c) local industry development, sustainable procurement and sustainable development, in public procurement and the disposal of public property. “Public property” means real or personal property owned by a public body.

    These Regulations amend the Natural Resources Conservation (Permits and Licences) Regulations 1996 by replacing regulation 3 relating to a grant of a permit to undertake an enterprise, construction or development of a prescribed description or category and by inserting new regulations (7A-D) on the grant of a renewal of a permit. Amendment are also made to the Fist Schedule (Forms) and regulation 24 and Schedule 2 (fees).

    This Act provides generally for registration of rights in land and land tenure in Belize. “Land” includes land covered with water, all things growing on land and buildings and other things permanently affixed to land. Except as otherwise provided in this Act, but subject to section 38 of National Lands Act, no law, practice or procedure relating to land shall apply to land registered under this Act so far as it is inconsistent with this Act.
