This Act makes provision with respect to development and spatial planning declared planning areas. It sets out powers of the Minister and provides for the transfer of powers from the Town and Country Planning Board to the Minister. The Minister shall appoint a planning committee for a declared planning area and establish a scheme for that area in accordance with provisions of this Act. The Minister may (compulsory) acquire land or other real property for purposes of carrying into effect provisions of the scheme.
This Act makes provision for the administration of districts, i.e. an area under the authority of a district assembly, a municipality or metropolis. Existing districts shall continue as districts for the purposes of this Act and new districts may be declared by the President by Executive Instrument.The Minister shall establish for each district, municipality or metropolis existing or created under this Act a District Assembly. The Act defines functions and powers of District Assemblies and provides rules for their functioning.
This Act establishes the Lands Commission, defines the functions of and assigns powers to the Commission and makes provision with respect to its composition and administration and the qualification and appointment of members of the Commission.The Commission shall, in coordination with relevant public agencies and governmental bodies: (a) manage public land and other lands vested in the President or in the Commission; (b) advise authorities on policy for the development of particular areas so as to ensure coordination with relevant development plans; (c) advise the Government on land use; an
The object of the Act is to provide a system for the registration of title to land and interests in land.
This Act provides for the administration of Stool and other lands. It is divided into 2 Parts: Administration (I) (Stool land, Kumasi town lands, Lands generally, Revenues); Miscellaneous (II). Stool lands are defined as including land controlled by any person for the benefit of the subjects or members of a Stool clan, company or community, and all land in the Upper and Northern Regions other than land vested in the President and accordingly "Stool" means the person exercising such control (sect. 31).
This Act establishes committees with powers to preserve and reclaim land and to protect water resources in approved areas of the Gold Coast. The Minister may declare, for the purposes of preserving land, reclaiming land and protecting water resources, any area within a designated area to be a planning area and establish a planning committee for such area (sect. 3 and 4).
