The main purpose of the workshop was to share the results and findings of, and obtain feedback on, the 5 years of work carried out under the IIMI-BF project. The workshop was attended by nearly 70 participants from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

Ces modes de transport non mécanisés ou mécanisés offrent un service parfaitement adapté aux petits volumes traités et aux capacités financières réduites des différents intervenants, grossistes comme détaillants. Ils jouent par conséquent un rôle essentiel dans le maintien de faibles coûts de redistribution intra-urbaine.
Cette communication s'inscrit dans une problématique de reconnaissance, d'aménagement et de gestion d'espaces urbains voués principalement au commerce de détail non sédentaire des produits alimentaires, par référence aux besoins quotidiens de la population. L'attention portera surtout sur les formes de distribution finale des produits alimentaires qui concernent directement la plus large partie des populations urbaines, et notamment les plus pauvres et les plus vulnérables, face au problème de l'alimentation quotidienne: les marchés et le commerce de rue.
