    El Encuentro de Aliados por la Tierra y Territorio se realizó en octubre de 2015, en la Capitanía de Macharetí, en el chaco boliviano, junto con la Asamblea del Pueblo Guaraní. La actividad, parte de la iniciativa Movimiento Regional por la Tierra y Territorio, reafirmó la necesidad de garantizar las múltiples formas de propiedad colectiva y de territorios en la región.

    This report presents results from nationally representative surveys with 1,000 residents aged 15 and older in eight countries — Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Greece, Indonesia, Nigeria, Peru and Tanzania — and with 3,000 residents in India. Each survey attained comprehensive coverage of both urban and rural areas of the country using multi-stage stratified cluster sampling.1 Standardized interviewer and supervisor training, as well as robust validation of data collection/data entry, help to ensure rigorous quality standards.

    This project is about showing whether BSM are effective. It seeks to quantify the consequences of BSM-driven changes in land and water management for livelihoods in upstream rural communities, and for water supplies for downstream water consumers. It will develop methods to anticipate ex ante the likely consequences of introducing BSM as well as monitoring and measuring these consequences ex post.

    This study shows that to achieve successful water management in the Andean region, certain conditions must be in place. These conditions are: participation of all involved actors; dialogue and agreement; transparency; access to adequate and timely

    information; having a bas in approach; articulation of conservation and productive processes; capacity building and local leader

    ship strengthening.
