This Act establishes the Nigeria Institute of Soil Science charged with responsibility for regulating the profession of Soil Science. It also establishes the Council of the Nigeria Institute of Soil Science and the Nigerian Institute of Soil and the Science Disciplinary Tribunal The Institute shall be a body corporate and shall be governed by the Council.
This Act amends the National Agricultural Land Development Authority Act in sections 2 (Membership of the Governing Board) and section 13 (State Agricultural Land Development and the Federal Capital Territory Land Development Advisory Committees).

This Act provides with respect to local government and selected matters of local development and planning in Ghana. It, among other things, provides for the creation of district assemblies, metropolitan assemblies, district planning authorities, the Local Government Service, the District Assemblies Common Fund, Regional Co-ordinating Councils, and the Inter-Ministerial Co-ordinating Committee on Decentralisation. For purposes of Local governance, the districts in existence immediately before the commencement of this Act shall continue to exist.
