    An Ordinance to provide for title and registration of rights in native land.The Act consists of 64 sections divided into 9 Parts: Preliminary (I); Titles to native land (II); Alienation (III); The Land Court (IV); Lands Code (V); Leases (VI); Survey (VII); Penalties (VIII); General (IX).Section 4 concerns indefeasibility of title of native title subject to specified conditions. Subject to the provisions of this Ordinance native land shall not be alienated, whether by sale, gift, lease or otherwise, to a person who is not a native (sect. 5).

    This Act vests the ownership of the foreshore and sea-bed in the Crown, subject to the public rights of: (a) navigation and fishing, and (b) of passing over the foreshore, and to any private rights that may exist in or over the foreshore or the sea-bed. The Minister may by notice, after consultation with landowners, designate a foreshore of an island or islet or any part thereof. No person shall remove from a designated foreshore any sand, gravel, reef mud, coral, rock or other like substance without first having obtained from the Chief Lands Officer a licence for that purpose.

    This Act provides for the compulsory acquisition or acquisition by agreement of neglected land and the subsequent sale of such land to natives. “Neglected land” means land suitable for agricultural use which is not being fully and efficiently utilized for agricultural purposes. The owner of land may be required to show cause why land is not neglected land and the owner of land found to be neglected, may be required to ensure the utilization of such land.

    This Act provides for the institution of “Conservation Areas”, i.e. areas declared to be such under section 3. Conservation Areas may include marine areas within the territorial sea, any terrestrial area including swamps, islets, reef flats, channels, sand banks and coral reef" in the territory of Tuvalu.

    An Act to consolidate Enactments relating to the Administration of the Estates of Deceased Persons.

    This Act concerns the administration of real estate of deceased persons by personal representative of the deceased person or executor by will. The Act also makes provision for the disposal of land subject to this Act and other administration of assets. A testator may appoint, and in default of such express appointment shall be deemed to have appointed, as his or her special executors in regard to settled land, the persons, if any, who are at his or her death the trustees of the settlement thereof, and probate may be granted to such trustees specially limited to the settled land.

    This Act concerns law in general applicable in Tuvalu and gives a definition of customary law and other sources of law. The Act also defines powers of the Attorney-General in relation to applied law.Customary law comprises the customs and usages, existing from time to time, of the natives of Tuvalu. Schedule 1 to this Act has effect with respect to the determination and recognition of customary law.

    This Act provides rules relative to real property and in particular to the lease and disposal of land.The Act prescribes rules relative to the manner of giving effect to equitable interests and powers, creation and disposition of equitable interests, vesting orders and dispositions of legal estates operating as conveyances by an estate owner, leasehold, rights on real property in case of infancy, lunacy or death, common ownership, registration of rights, etc.
