   The Government may declare any area as a protected watershed area and the Watershed Conservation Officer may take within the area the measures established by the present Act for the purpose of soil and watershed conservation (e.g. construction and maintenance of waterworks, afforestation, planting of grasses or other vegetation, protection of forests, cultivation of crops and fruits, maintenance of the fertility of the soil, etc.).

   El presente Texto Único de la Ley Nº 41, Ley General de Ambiente, que comprende las reformas aprobadas por la Ley Nº 18 de 2003, la Ley Nº 44 de 2006, la Ley Nº 65 de 2010 y la Ley Nº 8 de 2015, reconociendo que la administración del ambiente es una obligación del Estado, por tanto, mediante la presente Ley, establece los principios y normas básicas para la protección, conservación y recuperación del ambiente, promoviendo el uso sostenible de los recursos naturales.

   The purpose of the present Act is to establish a public intervention scheme for the rational exploitation of environmental resources. The scope of this plan is remediation and restoration of polluted sites involving marine areas, lakes and rivers. The Ministry of Health shall start the plan, together with the Regions, in national interest sites and in industrial areas (art. 1). Incentives and financial contribution shall be given to industries and industry consortia interested in the research and development of new rehabilitation technologies.

   This basic enactment of the Palestinian Legislative creates a framework for the protection of the environment, public health and biodiversity in Palestine including marine areas. Its 82 sections are divided into 5 Titles: Definitions and general provisions (I); Environmental protection (II); Environmental impact assessment, licensing, inspection and administrative procedure (III); Penalties (IV); Final provisions (V). Article 1 contains an extensive list of definitions, including "natural reserves" and "international waters". Objectives of this Law are set out in article 2.

   La presente ley tiene por objeto la preservación, conservación, defensa y mejoramiento del medio ambiente de la provincia de Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur.     The purpose of the present Act is to ensure the respect of natural resources. This term “natural resources” means the renewable resources of Saskatchewan and includes: i) fish; ii) wildlife; iii) wild species; iv) forest products; v) resource lands and provincial forest lands; vi) ecological reserves; vii) other living components of ecosystems within resource lands, provincial forest lands and other lands managed by the department.
