The present Act introduces some amendments to the Crown Lands and Forests Act. In particular, it adds after section 94 a paragraph establishing that additional fees shall be paid by a municipality, corporation, board, commission or any person who makes an application to the Minister to do any of the following shall pay the fee prescribed by the regulation: a) to issue a grant of Crown Lands, b) to make an order, to grant or convey land, c) to lease Crown lands shall pay the fee prescribed by regulation.

In particular, it amends section 3 by adding the following definitions in alphabetical order:“electronic instrument”,”prescribed form”, “subscriber”; it adds after section 17 a paragraph dealing with electronic instruments; it rewords section 21 concerning registered land.

This Act provides for the formation and registration of agricultural land owners associations and defines their functions and powers. It empowers the Minister to establish and maintain a registry of agricultural land and to regulate the management of registered agricultural lands. When necessary, drains and ditches may be constructed and have to be maintained. (25 sections)

The purpose of the present Act is to provide for: a) the adoption of regional development plans for the general development thereof; b) the coordination of community planning within the context of a regional plan, if any; c) with respect to unincorporated parts of the Province, the vesting in the Lieutenant-Governor in Council and in the Minister of planning authority and the vesting in the Minister of administrative authority in connection with such unincorporated parts.

The Act's aim is encourage conservation easements being placed to protect land: with endangered species or ecosystems, used for recreational purposes or of cultural or archeological significance (sect. 3).The Act has 13 sections, covering, for example: the nature and purpose of conservation easements (sects. 2 and 3); who may grant or hold a conservation easement (sects. 4 and 5); and various administrative and procedural matters related to these rights of use of land (sects. 6-13).

This Act released the restrictions made on any grant issued by the Crown prior to January 1, 1990. Restrictions may affect clear, cultivate, seat, enclose, dyke, repair or maintain dykes, improve, sow, plant, sow or plant specified crops or drain the land; dig a stone quarry or other mine or cut wood or employ labour in digging any stone quarry or other mine or in the cutting of wood; and keep or put neat cattle on the land. The text consists of 4 sections.
