An Act to provide for the adjudication of rights and interests in land, other than customary land, and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.
LegislaciónMalawi, África, África orientalThe Act makes provision for the adjudication and registration of rights and interests in land in areas declared to be adjudication area by the Minister. Land shall be adjudicated by an Adjudication Officer appointed by the Minister. The Minister shall also appoint Demarcation Officers, Recording Officers and Survey Officers. The Act sets out the principles and procedure of adjudication.

These Regulations set out, in the First Schedule, the form of any claim pursuant to sections 6 and 8 of the Adjudication of Title Act and the form of an Adjudication Record (in the Second Schedule). They also specify, in the Third Schedule, fees for purposes of the Act and grant the power to the Minister to suspend in respect of any adjudication area or a section of any adjudication area, and for a definite or an indefinite period, the payment of the fees.

LegislaciónMalawi, África, África orientalThe Act requires landowners to register Africans residing on their estate for the purpose of growing any economic crop for sale or performing any agricultural work. “African” means any person who is a member of an African community indigenous to Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia or Mozambique. This Act shall not apply to any African who is in occupation of land on an estate by virtue of a valid lease or tenancy agreement for a period of not less than two years.
