This Act amends the Affidavits of Prescription Act by providing for the suspension of sections 3, 4 and 6 to 9 of, and the Schedules to, the principal Act and provides for the circumstance where notice of an application has been published in accordance with section 4(2) of the principal Act and an objection may be made in the manner specified in section 6(1).

This Act concerns an affidavit witnessing the acquisition by prescription of immovable property. The Act, among other things: sets out conditions for transcription of affidavit; provides with respect to an application for the transcription of an affidavit of prescription; requires the Conservator of Mortgages to enter in a special register the particulars of every affidavit of prescription received for transcription; provides for procedures of transcription including objections by interested parties; defines effects of transcription.
This Act amends the Asset Recovery Act in various sections concerning, among other things: interpretations; disclosure of information; offences and legal proceedings; powers of the Enforcement Authority, which also concern disclosure of information; and cooperation by the Enforcement Authority and other public bodies in investigations.

This Act provides for the recovery of moveable and immoveable assets acquired as a result of an unlawful activity and establishes an Enforcement Authority, an Investigative Agency for this purpose. It also establishes a Recovered Assets Fund. Property which is attributable to property which is recoverable may be mixed with other property where it is used for the restoration or improvement of land.

These Regulations make provision for the control of activities on public beaches in the sense of the Beach Control Act. The holding of a public gathering on a beach shall be subject to authorization by the Beach Control Authority. Other rules concern swimming and use of boats in the sea adjacent to a public beach, disturbing or damaging of flora and fauna on beaches, pollution, erecting of structures, etc.
The Beach Authority, established under section 5 as a body corporate for purposes of this Act, shall be to ensure proper control and management of public beaches in Mauritius and Rodrigues, i.e. a space along the coast which, by notice published in the Gazette, has been declared to be a public beach by the Minister responsible for the subject of housing and lands. This space includes an area between the low water mark and the high water mark, and also the surrounding waters up to a distance of 100 meters.
These Regulations amend the Cadastral Land Survey (Registration of Memorandum of Survey and Survey Report in Rodrigues) Regulations 2013 in regulation 3 with respect of ptrcedures for the registration and approval of a Memorandum of Survey and Survey Report. The Departmental Head shall endorse every memorandum or report of survey. These Regulations, made by the Minister under section 21 of the Cadastral Survey Act, concerns a memorandum of survey or survey report, which shall be drawn up, in such form and manner as the Chief Surveyor may approve and in accordance with these Regulations. The two originals of every memorandum of survey or survey report shall be registered by the land surveyor within 14 days of the completion of the survey. The Permanent Secretary shall endorse every memorandum or report of survey received by him or her.
These Regulations set out the form of an application under section 7(3) of the Cadastral Survey Act 2011. Such application shall be accompanied by the appropriate fee specified in the Second Schedule. Section 7 stipulates that any interested person may apply for the assignment of a Parcel Identification Number (PIN) in respect of any plot of land or unit to be assigned by the Chief Surveyor.
