   An Act to provide for the control of abandoned lands in Tasmania. The Minister may issue an abandoned land notice in respect of land which meets requirements set out in section 4. Where the Minister is satisfied that a person is entitled to any estate or interest in the land to which an abandoned land notice relates, he may exclude from the operation of the notice those rights or, by agreement with that person, some other rights in substitution therefore.

The Regulations concern and provide forms for: an application for the constitution of an Aboriginal Council area; request to alter functions of an Aboriginal Council; notice of alteration of rules of an Aboriginal Council; application for the incorporation of an Aboriginal association; and notice of alteration of objects or rules of an incorporated Aboriginal association.

   This Act amends Aboriginal Land Rights 1983. Amending Acts and amending provisions are subject to automatic repeal pursuant to sec 30C of the Interpretation Act 1987 No. 15 once the amendments have taken effect.

   This Act, consisting of 7 Parts divided into 48 sections, makes provision with respect to the use of agricultural chemicals as defined by the AGVET Code which applies in force of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Queensland) Act 1994. Part 2 contains provisions dealing with matters of administration such as inspection and control and the continuing in existence of the Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control Board. Part 3 regulates distribution of pesticides from the air, whereas Part 4 concerns distribution from the ground.

   This Act makes provision for the registration of alienators having the right to negotiate negotiation of alienation of land of custom owners and the registration of mortgages on alienated land. Furthermore the Act provides for various matters relative to negotiation of land and consequences of alienation. Notwithstanding the provisions of the Land Reform Act, Cap. 123, the Minister shall cause a register of alienators to be kept (sect. 2) and if the Minister is satisfied that an applicant under section 3 is an alienator he shall register him as such in the Register.

   This Chapter provides in respect of certain matters relative to the sale, gift, exchange, or any other method of disposal of land. There is created a Land Commission which shall endeavour to prevent the monopolistic ownership of land and undesired alienations of communal lands by those charged with the management and control thereof. For this purpose the Commission shall make recommendations to the Governor respecting the approval or disapproval of instruments affecting the title, ownership or possession of land which require approval of the Governor pursuant to section 4.

    These Regulations make provision with respect to registration of professional engineers, architects and land surveyors and relative examinations. Registration shall take place with the Territorial Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors. The Regulations prescribe rules and criteria of examination for each of the professions.
