These Regulations implement the Crown Lands Act by providing specifications on the management of commonage areas. The Regulations include provisions on animals permitted the use of commonage (sect. 5), the application for the use of commonage (sect. 6), limitation on the use (sect. 7) and related fees and penalties.

This Act, consisting of 52 sections divided into ten Parts, provides for the internal rules of the Land Court. These Regulations, consisting of 16 sections, are made under section 3 of the Land Conservation (Vehicle Control) Act 1972 and regulate the use of vehicles on public land. In addition, they establish offence and penalties for illegal activities and false declarations.

The objectives of these Regulations are: to prescribe standard rules for public auctions for the sale of land; to prescribe written information statements that must be made available for public auctions for the sale of land, and to prescribe how that information is to be made available; and to prescribe the obligations of auctioneers at public auctions for the sale of land. These Regulations are made under section 48 of the Sale of Land Act 1962.
