    An Act to consolidate enactments relating to Survey Marks, official landmarks, and beacons.

    The Act (5 sections, 1 Schedule) sets out the official marks to be used by Government licensed or appointed surveyors in the conduct of official surveys. The use of the marks except in the conduct of an official survey is prohibited and liable to a penalty. Penalties for unauthorized defacement or destruction of survey marks, landmarks or beacons are also provided.

    An Act to provide for the coordination of surveys; for the establishment of a central plan office for the recording of surveys, plans and information relating thereto; and for purposes connected therewith.

    The Act (22 sections) provides for the coordination of surveys and the establishment of a central plan office at the Department of Lands for the recording of surveys, plans and related information. To this end, the Surveyor-General is given powers to ensure coordination of surveys and the Act, and a central plan register is established. Public authorities are to give notice of intention to commence new surveys to the Surveyor-General. The Surveyor-General shall have the power to require connection of proposed surveys to existing surveys, permanent marks etc.

    The Act (48 sections, 1 Schedule) is divided into 6 Parts: Preliminary (I), Administration (II), Soil Conservation Service (III), Soil Conservation Reserves (IV), Areas of Erosion Hazard (V) and Miscellaneous (VI). The Soil Conservation Service is established as part of the Department of Agriculture, headed by the Commissioner of Soil Conservation, as well as the Soil Conservation Advisory Committee. The administration may declare areas to be Soil Conservation Reserves or Area of Erosion Hazard.

    The Act prescribes that rights over land and water which have been actually enjoyed for a period for not less than 20 years without interruption and which can be lawfully claimed under common law, will be, subject to conditions as established by this Act, be deemed to be "absolute and indefeasible".

    This Act consist of 7 Parts divided into 41 sections: Preliminary (1), Administration (2), Approved Property Plans (3), Project Areas (4), Objections and Appeals (5), Financial Assistance (6), General Provisions (7). The Act vests powers in the chief executive of Primary Industries relating to soil conservation to facilitate the implementation of soil conservation by land holders. The main instruments are property plans, run-off coordination notices, project plans for project areas and soil conservation orders.
