An Act to make provision for the establishment of tribunals to hear and determine certain small claims; to provide for the jurisdiction, powers, and procedures of those tribunals; and for the purposes connected therewith.
This Act provides for the establishment of Tribunals and defines proceedings and procedures before such Tribunals in relation to so-called small claims, i.e. claims relative to contracts or established rights not exceeding a specified amount. The Act further provides for enforcement of decisions and appeals against decisions of a Tribunal established under this Act.The primary function of a Tribunal is to attempt to bring the parties to a dispute to an agreed settlement.
