This Act amends the Wills Act, 1837 with regard to the form of a will, the extension of the application of provisions of the principal to existing wills and the interpretation of “will”.

This Ordinance sets out the conditions for the making of a valid will, determines who may make a valid will, defines the procedures of the drawing up of a will and related acts and contains provisions as to the execution of wills.
This Chapter provides for the disposal of (real) property by will and execution of wills. It defines certain requirements regarding execution, rights of spouse of the deceased person and legal procedures. A surviving spouse may elect to take dower instead of property devised or bequeathed to such spouse.
