   This Law, consisting of 5 chapters, divided in 71 articles, regulates the general principles on land, territorial and urban planning. In particular, the Law rules on: land and territorial planning, land classification, and registration procedures. Moreover, the Law indicates the competent authorities and their related functions. The Law is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap I); Territorial planning structural tools (Chap II); Composition of territorial competent authorities (Chap III); Territorial plan regime (Chap IV); Final provisions (Chap V).

   This Proclamation of the Afar National Regional State establishes a rural land administration system that is suitable for natural resource management and protection and that incentivizes investment within the traditional clan-based communal land tenure system. Laws that pertain to lands designated as forest lands, wildlife sanctuaries, biodiversity protected lands, environmental and natural resource conservation and preservation areas shall not be affected by this Proclamation. The Proclamation, among other things: provides for survey, registration, certification etc.

In recognition that the pursuit of food security is a long-term and multi-sector challenge, institutional strengthening and capacity building is included as a central element of the Strategy.

   The overall aim of the present Forest and Wildlife Policy is the conservation and sustainable development of forest and wildlife resources for the maintenance of environmental stability and continuous flow of optimum benefits from the socio-cultural and economic goods and services that the forest environment provides to the present and future generations whilst fulfilling Ghana’s commitments under international agreements and conventions.

   This Law approves the National Directive for Territorial Planning (DNOT). This Directive, consisting of 4 Sections, specifies the basic legislation for territorial planning and its management, as established by Legislative Decree No. 1/2006. The Directive is an instrument for the National territorial management, which establishes the legal spatial framework and defines the great options for the socio-economic development of the National territory.

   Le présent décret porte application de l'article 5 de la loi nº 64-46 relative au domaine national, et fixe les conditions de l'administration des terres du domaine national à vocation agricole situées dans les zones urbaines. A l'intérieur des zones urbaines, des sections rurales peuvent être créées par décret, dans les secteurs non urbanisés et qui ne doivent pas faire l'objet d'une urbanisation dans un délai rapproché.
