   This Law approves the National Directive for Territorial Planning (DNOT). This Directive, consisting of 4 Sections, specifies the basic legislation for territorial planning and its management, as established by Legislative Decree No. 1/2006. The Directive is an instrument for the National territorial management, which establishes the legal spatial framework and defines the great options for the socio-economic development of the National territory.

   This Decree-Law, consisting of 7 Chapters, approves the National Regulation for Land and Urban Planning (RNOTPU). it specifies the basic legislation for territorial planning and its management, as established by Legislative Decree No. 1/2006.    This Ordinance establishes the St. Helena National Trust as a body corporate. The principal objects of the Trust shall be: (a) to promote the permanent preservation for the benefit of St. Helena of lands and buildings of beauty or historical interest and, in the case of lands, the preservation of their natural aspect features and animal, plant and marine life; and (b) to maintain and manage lands acquired by the Trust as open spaces or places of public resort and buildings so acquired for purposes of public recreation, resort or instruction.

   This Ordinance empowers the Governor in Council to regulate various aspects of pasturage including reservation of land owned or leased by Government for the pasturage of animals subject to such restrictions and conditions as may be prescribed. The Council Committee shall be responsible for the carrying out of this Ordinance and Regulations made thereunder. The Ordinance also provides rules relative to impounding and marking of animals and provides that moneys raised under this Ordinance shall be paid into a fund called the Animal Husbandry Fund.

   This Act concerns the rights in and management of mineral resources in Nigeria. It provides rules for exploration and exploitation of resources and for the protection of the environment. It also concerns possession of mining material, small-scale mining and the protection of interests of host communities, provides incentives for mining operations and defines offences.“Minerals” excludes petroleum but includes water with mineral content. The Act establishes within the Ministry the Mines Inspectorate Department and the Mines Environmental Compliance Department and defines their functions.
