This Act lays down rules regarding the acquisition of property rights of agricultural and forestry lands, the institution of usufruct right on such lands, the use of land, the control on restrictions relative to the acquisition of land, and rules regarding local land commissions. This Act applies to all land in the national territory.
This Act provides for the recognition of Samoans and the registration of persons declared by the Court to be Samoans.
This Act makes provision with respect tenure of land in the Western Area of Sierra Leone by non-citizen, i.e. any individual who is not a citizen of Sierra Leone, and any company, association or body of persons, corporate or incorporation if which more than one half of the members directly or indirectly are not citizens of Sierra Leone.
The Act provides with respect to the holding of rights in land and mortgages by foreigners in Grenada. It also provides for forfeiture of illegally-held land and shares of companies that do not comply with the provisions of this Act. The Minister may, if he or she thinks fit, from time to time, grant to any alien a licence to hold land as owner or tenant for any estate or interest either subject to any condition (or not) or grant to an alien a licence to hold land as mortgagee for any estate or interest therein.
This Act makes provision for the administration of estates in Belize of deceased foreign persons. It assigns powers to representatives of specified countries of origin of the deceased person to administer the estate if there is no person present in Belize at the time of death who is rightfully entitled to administer the estate of such deceased person. Nothing contained in this Act shall affect the Crown’s right under the Administration of Estates Act. The representative shall apply for letters of administration to be issued by court.
The present Law implements the Federal Act on the acquisition of land by persons abroad of 16 December 1983. Article 6 establishes that the acquisition of land shall be authorized if this serves as principal residence. The text consists of 14 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Designated competent authorities (II); Cantonal license reasons and restrictions (III); Proceedings (IV); Final provisions (V).
The Act requires landowners to register Africans residing on their estate for the purpose of growing any economic crop for sale or performing any agricultural work. “African” means any person who is a member of an African community indigenous to Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia or Mozambique. This Act shall not apply to any African who is in occupation of land on an estate by virtue of a valid lease or tenancy agreement for a period of not less than two years.
The present Law implements the Federal Act on the acquisition of land by persons abroad of 16 December 1983. Article 1 lists competent authorities in the Canton of Luzern responsible for the enforcement of the afore-mentioned Federal Act.
