Informes e investigacionesNoviembre, 2014Kenya, Uganda, Senegal, África, África oriental, África occidentalThis paper presents the initial data analyses of the CCAFS gender survey implemented in four sites in Africa. Using descriptive statistics we show gender differences in terms of perceptions of climate change, awareness and adoption of climate smart agricultural (CSA) practices, and types and sources of agro-climatic information in the four sites.We find that both men and women are experiencing changes in long-run weather patterns and that they are changing their behaviours in response; albeit relatively minor shifts in existing agricultural practices.

FAO-Adapt consolidates FAO’s multidisciplinary expertise on climate change adaptation. Through this Organization-wide framework, FAO provides countries with best practices, key principles and priority themes on which member nations can focus adaptation efforts in agriculture and food security. Since launching FAO-Adapt in June 2011, the Organization has: developed and implemented new, adaptation-focused projects and programmes; and enhanced FAO’s own capacity to deliver adaptation support to member countries.

Ces activités se concentrent principalement dans les régions de l’Ouest, du Sud et de l’Est dont les ressources forestières sont encore relativement abondantes. L’objectif de cette étude est de faire une analyse critique sur les approches et les technologies existantes sur l’aménagement des forêts naturelles.
