The Act makes provisions for leases in respect of short term crops. Section 3 states that 'any person desirous of growing a short term crop shall be deemed to have a valid and enforceable lease of land for that purpose upon the covenants and terms set forth in the Schedule or on such terms as parties may agree'. The Schedule provides for a standard lease agreement.
The Act provides for the designation of land use of the Cook Islands. The 17 sections are divided into 3 Parts: Zoning Orders (I); Land Use Board (II); Administration (III). The High Commissioner may issue Orders to establish zones of land use. The use of land within the created zone shall be pursuant to the Order (sects. 3 and 4). Except in accordance with the terms of the Order, an occupier shall not make any permanent improvement or alteration or erect any building without the prior consent of the Board (sect. 6).
The amendment inserts a new article 35a concerning the representation of absent owners at incorporation meetings and at assembled owners meetings.

The Act facilitates dealings in land by providing for incorporation of owners of native land and powers of assembled owners (preamble). The objects of incorporation include: to occupy and manage the land as a plantation or farm, to use the land for the growing of timber, to engage in coal mining and to arrange for the lease of land (sect. 5). The Court may make an order of incorporation on the application of any persons interested, stating, inter alia, the objects for which the the body corporate is established (sect. 7).
The amendment extends the term of a lease of land for the purpose of growing a short term crop from fifteen months to five years.

The Act restricts leases, assignment of leases or subleases. Any such lease requires the approval of the Leases Approval Committee, established in the Act. In considering applications for approval, the Committee shall have regard to any criteria as well as policy directions from the Minister of Justice. Approval is not required for leases under the Short Term Crop Leases Act or any lease for a term not exceeding five years. It further provides for application, procedures of the Committee, regulations.
An Ordinance to provide for title and registration of rights in native land.The Act consists of 64 sections divided into 9 Parts: Preliminary (I); Titles to native land (II); Alienation (III); The Land Court (IV); Lands Code (V); Leases (VI); Survey (VII); Penalties (VIII); General (IX).Section 4 concerns indefeasibility of title of native title subject to specified conditions. Subject to the provisions of this Ordinance native land shall not be alienated, whether by sale, gift, lease or otherwise, to a person who is not a native (sect. 5).
An Act relating to the administration of estates of deceased persons. "Administration" means probate of the will of a deceased person, and includes letters of administration of the estate of a deceased person, granted with or without a will annexed, for general, special, or limited purposes, and in the case of a trustee corporation includes an order to administer and an election to administer. The Act regulates granting of administration and contains rules regarding administration of estates.
This New Zealand Act is in part applying to the administration of land by trustees, appointment of trustees, the right to sell, transfer, lease, etc. land , vesting of land in trustees, etc. Courts are authorized to order dealings with trust property.
This Act concerns the government of Samoa. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act, or in any rule of law, or in any lease, it shall not be lawful for any person to distrain for rent. The only other provision of this Act concerns legal capacity and status of married women.
