La presente Ley General de los Registros Públicos, tiene por objeto la creación, regulación, organización, régimen administrativo, funcionamiento y procedimiento de los Registros Públicos integrados en el Sistema Nacional de Registros.

This Act provides rules for the registration of title or other interests in land and related matters and provides for the form of transfer of title in land or other interest in land such as mortgages, caveats, leases and easements.There shall continue to be a Registrar of Land who shall be the Chief Executive Officer responsible for the administration of this Act. The Registrar may delegate the Registrar’s powers and functions to the Assistant Registrar of Land.
The present Law lays down provisions relating to charges for continuation of property registration in the real estate cadastre. Article 1 establishes that for changes in ownership in the real estate cadastre a fee (Cadastral Continuation Fee) shall be charged, otherwise the continuation of registration in the cadastre is free of charge. The Law consists of 6 articles.

The present Ordinance enforces the Introductory Law relating to the Spatial Information Act of 2 May 2010. In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to geographic information and collection, managment and use of spatial data for the Canton Glarus.
The present Ordinance enforces the Spatial Information Law of 24 October 2011. If the afore-mentioned Law does not contain the relevant provisions, the Spatial Information Ordinance of 27 June 2012 shall be applied.
