Natalia is customary tenure advisor with the Mekong Region Land Governance (MRLG) project, based in Vientiane, Lao PDR. Natalia has spent the last ten years conducting research on land and water governance, livelihoods and development in the Mekong region and coordinating policy dialogues with diverse stakeholders in the Mekong region and Australia. Prior to joining MRLG, Natalia worked on multidisciplinary research projects at the University of Sydney on topics including the intersection between resource development, livelihoods and nutrition, the role of law in Mekong river basin development and the political economy of land governance.

Project Description

Land governance is at the center of development challenges in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. Governments are revising land policies and practices in order to face these challenges. The project aims to (i) assist the emergence of more favorable policies and practices for securing the rights and access of family farmers to land and natural resources; and (ii) to strengthen the effectiveness of concerned stakeholders through learning, alliance building and regional cooperation.
