The Netherlands’ Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency – in short Kadaster – collects and registers administrative and spatial data on property and the rights involved. This also goes for ships, aircraft and telecom networks. Doing so, Kadaster protects legal certainty. We are also responsible for national mapping and maintenance of the national reference coordinate system. Furthermore, we are an advisory body for land-use issues and national spatial data infrastructures.
The Forum is being organized by the Jordanian Department of Land and Survey (DLS) in partnership with the Netherlands’ Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency (Kadaster). Within the context of attaining the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and as a follow-up of the 1st Arab Land Conference in Dubai in 2018, the Forum offers a platform for debate on the future of Land Administration in a sustainable and Fit For Purpose land administration system that suits the needs of society and environment as a whole. With your presence and participation, we will be able to demonstrate the importance of Regional cooperation as it is stipulated in the Declaration signed during the 1st Arab Land Conference in Dubai, creating a lasting impact in our societies.
The forum takes place from 4-6 March 2019 in Amman. We expect to host around 200 high level land professionals and decision makers from the Arab region and internationally. The event is organized around the themes:
· land policies for social and economic development
· law for modern land administration
· data acquisition in fit-for-purpose approaches
· data sharing
· financing modern land administration.
The set-up will be a modern approach with short pitches and moderated discussions.
