Tanzania Mainland Poverty Assessment

Juin, 2015

Since the early 2000s, Tanzania has seen
remarkable economic growth and strong resilience to external
shocks. Yet these achievements were overshadowed by the slow
response of poverty to the growing economy. Until 2007, the
poverty rate in Tanzania remained stagnant at around 34
percent despite a robust growth at an annualized rate of
approximately 7 percent. This apparent disconnect between
growth and poverty reduction has raised concerns among

Afghanistan

The vast majority of land in Afghanistan is untitled and unregistered, further complicating the Afghan state’s ability to help sustainably resolve land disputes. Resources and Resourcefulness

Mai, 2015

Recent studies in the DRC tend to focus
on human rights abuses or on the status of women, however
few investigations examine the link between mining and
sexual violence. There is a dearth of research specifically
into the gender dimensions of artisanal and small-scale
mining (ASM) as a means to economic security for both men
and women. Further, there has been insufficient analysis of
the real and potential threats to women’s human rights in

The meeting began with the adoption of the draft report on the budget vote 39, where a number of small issues were raised, including typos and minor amendments. The main thrust of the changes was that the Land Claims Court should be given greater priority, and a policy needed to be put in place to help with alleviating the bottlenecks in these courts. The adoption of the report became heated when the DA abstained from approving it, even though they had been a part of the process from the beginning.
