The Act makes provision for prescription in respect of claims relative Common Law, by custom, prescription or grant, to any right of common or other profit or benefit to be taken and enjoyed from or upon any land or in respect of a watercourse or the use of any water.
These Bye-laws are made under subsection (4) of section 9 of the Land Surveyors Act which provides that the Bahamas Association of Land Surveyors, established under the Act, shall have power to make rules or Bye-laws not inconsistent with the provisions of the Act for the regulation of its affairs and the conduct of its business.
This Act makes rules so as to prevent and punish fraudulent conveyances of land that deceive purchasers. Such fraudulent conveyances are declared to be void. Provision is also made in respect conveyances of lands afterwards sold for good consideration.
This Act amends the Forestry Act in sections 3, 6, 7 and 8 so as to vest in the Minister land declared to be a forest reserve, Crown land declared to be a protected forest and land declared to be a conservation forest.

This Act provides rules relative to the holding of title and other rights in land by persons other than a permanent resident or other than persons acquiring land or an interest in land under a devise or by inheritance (“Non-Bahamian”) and makes provision for control by the State on the holding of title in land in the Bahamas by foreigners.
This Act defines the legality of voluntary conveyance of any lands, tenements or hereditaments which are in fact made bona fide and without any fraudulent intent for purposes of a specified piece of United Kingdom legislation.
The Act makes provisions in respect of powers and remedies given to lessors and landlords in case of any tenant deserting the demised premises, and leaving the same uncultivated or unoccupied, so as no sufficient distress can be had to countervail the arrears of rent.
These Regulations prescribe rules relative to the conduct and practice of land surveyors authorized to act as such under the Land Surveyors Act. The rules concern, among other things, the form and content of a survey including the marking of boundaries, the duty to report to the Surveyor General on certain matters, details of survey plans and verification of boundaries.
