    The Act applies to squatters on state lands, squatters and tenants in designated areas and squatters and tenants occupying land of State Agencies listed in the Schedule (sect. 3). Section 4 protects squatters from ejectment from dwellings subject to sections 11 and 27. Section 11 provides for the granting of a certificate of comfort against ejectment. Such certificate does not constitute a title in land. Section 27 concerns relocation of squatters. A Land Settlement Agency is established under section 5.

    Section 11 of the State Land (Regularisation of Tenure) Act, 1998 provides for the granting of a certificate of comfort against ejectment. In accordance with these Regulations a squatter shall apply for a certificate in a prescribed form and attach to the application document of proof of occupation of the dwelling. Regulation 4 provides for application in case the application is out of occupation.

    This Act makes provision for the payment of compensation for withholding of property by persons acting in collusion with tenants and for the recovery of non-paid rent. The Act also makes provision for the renewal of leases without the surrender of land.

    This Act provides protection for and regulates tenancy for agricultural purposes of land of not less than one acre nor more than fifty acres whether with or without buildings. The Act applies also to some other agricultural land tenancy. The Act prescribes statutory terms of tenancy according to the cultivation purposes of the land and sets out statutory conditions for a tenancy contract.

    This Act provides rules relative to sale and other transactions concerning land. It also concerns (statutory) mortgages, easements and selected matters regarding leases. The Act requires contracts for sale etc. to be in writing. All conveyances of land or of any interest therein are void for the purpose of conveying or creating a legal estate unless made by deed. The Act specifies covenants that may be included in a deed. Mortgaged land may be leased by mortgagee or mortgagor for agricultural or mining purposes. As for mortgages the Act specifies procedures for execution.

    These Regulations, made under section 4 of the State Lands Act, specify in the Schedule fees that shall be paid in respect of the several matters to which they are applicable. The fees shall be payable to the Director of Surveys.

    This Act provides for the administration, management and protection of state lands. It also provides that the dominion of the seashore lying between the high water mark and the low water mark belongs to and is vested in the State. The President may grant (a licence for) part of such land, and land reclaimed from the sea shall belong to and be vested in the State or the grantee.

    This Act places limits and restrictions on actions related to real property rights and regarding in particular recovery of land and rent. The Act provides rules for the accrual of the right to make entry or distress and defines rights of tenants. It also concerns limitation of action by mortgagees, mortgagors and heirs.

    An Act to amend the Land Tenants (Security of Tenure) Act, Chap. 59:54.

    This Act amends the Land Tenants (Security of Tenure) Act in section 4(3) by deleting the words “at least six months” and substituting the words “on or”. Section 4(2) provides that a statutory lease shall be a lease for thirty years commencing from the appointed day and, subject to subsection (3), renewable by the tenant for a further period of thirty years.

    This Notification, made under the State Land (Regularisation of Tenure) Act, prescribes the form of a delegation to support the application for a certificate of comfort as provided for by regulation 2 of the State Land (Regularisation of Tenure) (Certificate of Comfort) Regulations, 2000. Those Regulations implement section 11 of the Act which provides for the granting of a certificate of comfort against ejectment. Such certificate does not constitute a title in land.
