The Act consists of 9 Parts divided into 86 sections: Preliminary (1); Acquisition of land by Crown for private sector infrastructure project (1A); Acquisition of land (2); Compensation entitlement (3); Claims for, and determination of, compensation (4); Payment of compensation (5); Powers in relation to land (6); Proceedings before the Court and Arbitrator (7); Persons under disability and limited owners (8); Miscellaneous (9).Land may be acquired as specified under this Act by agreement or by compulsory process.The Act covers rights to compensation and the methods for the payment of compensation and interests on compensation.
