    The Decree sets out the general conditions for the transfer of ownership of government lands to the Omani citizens under their personal request. It also sets forth rules with respect to land ownership and land use rights. The conditions for granting residential lands, commercial and industrial lands or agricultural lands are stated in the Decree.The authorities of reference are the Ministry of Land Affairs and the municipalities.

    This Law, consisting of 22 articles, provides for agricultural soil preservation within the State of Paraná. The agricultural land is a National Patrimony and, consequently, it is under the responsibility of the State, the rightful owners, the temporary occupants and the community to preserve it, exercising in it the right of ownership or temporary possession with the limitations established in this agricultural land code of use. The use of agricultural land will only be allowed through land use planning, according to its capacity through the use of appropriate technology.

    The results of a survey conducted in 1983 among 416 farmers participating in the integrated rural development project (DRI, Colombia) in Atlantico (60), Bolivar (66), Cordoba (156), and Sucre (134), on land use and importance of cassava within the farming system, are presented. Except for Bolivar, where cassava and yam plantings decreased, increased land use attributable to increased credit availability was observed. In general, 1.7 ha cassava was planted per farm in 1982-83, mainly in association with yam, maize, and plantains; 55 percent of the land planted included cassava.

Examines the diversity of climates and soil conditions as they constitute constraints to forage or crop production in the Rift Valley, classifying major tribes in the grass flora, & analysing the adaptability of some genera of tropical forage legumes in commercial use to water stress, heat stress & poor soil.

    Eighteen plants traditionally used for the treatment of human and animal helminthiasis in Africa were screened for anthelmintic activity using the Nippostrongylus - rat model. Aloe barteri, Terminalia avicennioides, Annona senegalensis, Cassia occidentalis, Anogeissus leiocarpus and Diospyros mespiliformis showed significant activity, giving deparasitizations of 92, 89, 75, 69, 60 and 58% respectively compared to untreated controls.
