    Agriculture is directly linked to the socio-economic development of every region. Agriculture impacts us all, whether we are seeking food security, better health or striving to conserve natural resources. Goal 2 of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) underlines the significance of agriculture as a means to achieve food security. United Nations in its recently published report titled “World Economic Situation and Prospects 2020”(UN, 2020) has declared agriculture as one of the global priorities for achieving high-quality health care and formal employment opportunities.

Part IX of the Constitution relating to Panchayats is extended to the Scheduled Areas subject to such exceptions and modifications, as provided in section 4.

    This Act provides that any land upon which an agricultural labourer, an artisan or a fisherman has a dwelling house which is complete in itself and not shared in common with any person other than a person belonging to the same family shall be in the ownership of such an agricultural labourer, an artisan or a fisherman. The Act states that the State government shall pay a price to the former owner, acquire such land and, thereafter, transfer the same to the agricultural labourer, artisan or fisherman who owns the homestead on the land.

    The Act, consisting of 42 sections divided into and completed by one Schedule, provides for the protection, conservation, rehabilitation and improvement of the environment, including the prevention and control of pollution, and promotion of sustainable development. It extends to the whole Province of Balochistan except Tribal Areas. The Act establishes the following obligations: Prohibition of import of hazardous and electronic Wastes; Solid and Waste Management License; Water Resources Management; Motor vehicles; Alien Species and Living Modified Organisms.

    These Regulations, consisting of 13 sections and two Schedules, applies to cultivate agricultural land the Conservation areas, declared by Order published in Gazette Extraordinary No. 1550/9 of 22 May 2008, as specified in the Schedule to these regulations. They establish requirements to that a person shall not cultivate annual crops on any land area, which consists of a slope of more than sixty 60%.

    This Ordinance, consisting of 32 sections, divided into seven Chapters, creates the Punjab Land Records Authority.     This Law provides for the protection and use of pastures for cattle grazing.The Law identifies two kinds of pasture: specific pasture which exists within the boundaries of villages or towns; and communal pasture which is arid land and does not fall within the bounds of villages and towns. The right to use specific pasture may not be bought or sold, and it shall be forbidden to sell or lease it for expansion of agricultural activities.
