El informe “Derechos Humanos y la relevancia de los derechos a la tierra y territorio en Argentina” fue presentado como contribución e inclusión de la agenda de Derechos a la Tierra al mecanismo de evaluación al Cuarto Ciclo del Examen Periódico Universal (EPU) donde Argentina fue evaluada por sus pares en enero 2023.
Digital technologies are slowly spreading in agriculture sectors globally. But their adoption is hampered by the digital divide which requires significant public investments, improved policy and incentive frameworks to be bridged. DAP is meant to assess the country's readiness for this digital transformation by identifying main bottlenecks, opportunities and risks for digital transformation. As with the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), Argentina has experienced an intense process of deforestation and loss of natural vegetation in the last few decades. As the eighth-largest country in the world, with a total mainland area of more than 2.7 million km2 , this not only has significant implications for the region, but globally too. Native forests, such as those in the “Chaco” region in the north of the country, have been particularly affected by this process.
Exploration and mapping of alternative land uses suggest ways to foster territorial development pathways that can coexist with a forest cover. As the Pampas and Chaco are becoming one of the most relevant global grain suppliers of South America, the fast expansion of crops over pastures (Pampas) and dry forests (Chaco), ongoing climate changes, and extremely flat topography, make these regions vulnerable to rapid and non-linear hydrological shifts, including long-lasting floods and salinization processes.
