BE IT ENACTED by the State President and the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:
To provide for the temporary protection of certain rights to and interests in land which are not otherwise adequately protected by law; and to provide for matters connected therewith
This Act amends the Integrated Coastal Management Act, 2008 with respect to a wide variety of matters including composition coastal public property, access fees, purposes for which coastal public property is established, reclamation of land by public authorities for state infrastructure and other purposes, the declaration of state-owned land as coastal public property, establishment of coastal management lines for protection purposes, award of coastal use permits on coastal public property and unlawful structures on coastal public property.
This Act concerns the imposition of a municipal rate on (rights in) immovable property and public service infrastructure envisaged in section 229(1)(a) of the Constitution. The Act makes provision for exemptions, rebates and reductions on properties used for agricultural purposes, and defines criteria for this purpose. Municipalities may set differential rates for various properties including land used for agriculture and protected areas in the sense of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003.
This Act establishes a system of integrated coastal and estuarine management in South Africa.
This Act provides for the protection of agricultural land in rural areas, i.e. land that not situated in urban areas (except for provisions for the control of weed that do apply to land in urban areas). The Act shall not apply to mountain catchment areas.
The objectives of this Act are, inter alia, to: (a) provide for, the cultural and environmental protection and sustainable development of, and related activities within, World Heritage Sites; and giving effect to the values of the World Heritage Convention; (b) make the Convention part of South African domestic law and to create a framework to ensure that the Convention and the Operational Guidelines are effectively implemented in the Republic; (c) ensure that everything done in terms of this Act conforms with the obligations of the Republic in terms of the Convention and the Operational Gu
The objectives of this Act are: (a) to provide, within the framework of national legislation, for the declaration and management of protected areas; (b) to provide for cooperative governance in the declaration and management of protected areas; (c) to effect a national system of protected areas in South Africa as part of a strategy to manage and conserve its biodiversity; (d) to provide for a representative network of protected areas on state land, private land and communal land; (e) to promote sustainable utilization of protected areas for the benefit of people, in a manner that would pres
This Act provides for physical planning in South Africa at national and local level. It assigns functions to the Minister of Regional and Land Affairs for achievement the objects of this Act and grants power to the Minister to divide the Republic into two or more development regions and to divide a development region into two or more planning regions. The Minister shall ensure that physical planning is promoted and coordinated on a national and regional basis.
This Act concerns spatial planning in South Africa at national and local level. It provides for a uniform, effective and comprehensive system of spatial planning and land use management and development, and for the sustainable and efficient use of land.
