This study focuses on the current situation, trends and likely developments of forest resources to 2010. Forest areas, growing stocks, increments and fellings are reviewed on a country basis. The working paper attempts to assess the potential productive capacity and fellings for both fuelwood and industrial wood use taking account of the impact of changes in the agricultural frontier and population growth.
