The Conference of the Parties (COP) of UNFCCC is a prime opportunity to communicate FAO’s work on climate change and to liaise with potential partners, at the numerous side events and parallel events organized around the COP. This booklet seeks to raise awareness on the impacts of climate change on food security and nutrition and advocate for the importance of having the agricultural sectors properly considered in climate change mechanisms, policies and finances.

En el curso de la historia, los bosques fueron apreciados por la multiplicidad de productos y beneficios que rendan, ya sea como medio de subsistencia que de comercio: comestibles, medicinas, especias, resinas, gomas, ltex, fauna, combustible, y madera y productos forestales, etc. La literatura contiene una gran cantidad de ejemplos de comercio internacional de productos forestales, muchos de los cuales se refieren a la ms remota antigedad. Casi siempre se trata de resinas, aceites, especias, etc., y raramente de madera.

Tout au cours de l'histoire, les forts ont t estimes pour l'abondance des biens qu'elles prodiguent: produits de subsistance et produits d'change, aliments, remdes, pices, rsines, gommes, latex, gibier, bois de feu et, naturellement, bois d'uvre avec tous ses drivs. Les textes foisonnent d'exemples de commerce international de produits forestiers remontant pour beaucoup des milliers d'annes. Il est d'ailleurs intressant de noter que ces changes portaient davantage sur les rsines, les huiles et les pices que sur le bois.
