L’importance de l’accès à la terre aux femmes n’est plus à démontrer, eu égard aux impératifs liés à la réalisation des objectifs de développement durable. En dépit de leur rôle essentiel et de leur contribution à l’agriculture et à la sécurité alimentaire, elles sont victimes de discriminations en termes d’accès et de contrôle sur les terres, ainsi que de la distribution des revenus tirés de l’exploitation.
Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo discutir o processo de produção do espaço litorâneo a partir da espacialização e regionalização dos meios de hospedagem, procurando identificar as diferentes tipologias presentes, bem como a sua incidência ao longo dos 275 municípios litorâneos, do Amapá ao Rio Grande do Sul. São estudadas e inventariadas as segundas residências, as redes hoteleiras nacionais e internacionais, os resorts e os empreendimentos turísticos imobiliários, frutos da associação entre segundas residências e resorts.
The 2021 Conference on Land Policy in Africa opened with a resounding call for African countries to develop pro-poor land policies and inclusive land tenure rights;particularly for women and youth. Anything related to land needs strong political will;people buy-in;and close collaboration. Climate change has raised the risk of deforestation and land degradation. In recent years;a surge in the purchase of African land by foreign companies and governments to grow food and other crops for export has also set alarm bells ringing on and off the continent.
Two new papers by Sandra Bhatasara and Kirk Helliker on land occupations in Shamva and Bindura Districts;Mashonaland Central;are analysed. They offer nuanced accounts of what happened. As previous studies have shown;the story is not straightforward. Includes history and memory;organising occupations;the occupiers;rise of the party-state;why does this history matter? Concludes that together these two papers shed important light on the land occupation period.

Land, Law and Chiefs in Rural South Africa analyses contestations of power and control over land through the lens of local case studies in the densely settled former African ‘homelands’ or Bantustans. These were areas reserved for African occupation by the apartheid government and when the ANC came to power in 1994, they were the poorest and least developed parts of the country. Over the last few decades, mineral deposits have been exploited and some are located close to the boundaries of rapidly expanding cities, such as Durban, where peri-urban land is at a premium.
This paper examines the roles of the state, international organisations and the public in pastoral land reform in the Central Asian republics and Mongolia. In recent years new legislation has been passed in most of these countries, often driven by environmental concerns. In the development of these laws, international organisations tend to promote common property regimes, whilst governments usually emphasise individual security of tenure, each using environmental arguments taken from quite different bodies of theory.
