    With only 7 percent of agricultural land, Tajikistan is a mountainous country located at the heart of Central Asian region, prone to desertification, salinization, soil erosion and forest loss. The first step to address the issue is to measure the real cost of degradation of the agricultural land. The full costs of land degradation are believed to be high and increasing but they are also difficult to measure.

    Rangelands are recognized for their importance and value in providing society with valuable products and ecosystem services. In such ecosystems, effective management is needed for sustainable plant growth and survival in a context characterized by rainfall unreliability, poor soil nutrient status and high uncontrolled grazing. Therefore, cost-effective techniques/tools for slowing down and eventually reversing this degradation are needed. This paper promotes identifying and combining various tools for degraded arid ecosystems as strategies aimed for rangeland restoration/ rehabilitation.

    This document aims to contribute to the empirical development of effective approaches for the assessment of rangeland governance at local levels, and provide insights about major governance drivers through the quantitative assessment of their effects. Our focus is an application of the Bayesian Belief Network (BBN) methodology to assess key variables that affect the probability of good rangeland governance under contrasting contexts of land tenure in Southern Tunisia.

    The study provides a framework to estimate the health risk of farmers using wastewater in agriculture.
    The study addresses the SDG 6.3: to contribute to inform water recycling and reuse.
    Exposure to wastewater via contact with Nhue River water, pond water and composted excreta represents an important health risk.
    Study results are useful in developing an integrated strategy for risk management in the agricultural settings.
