Мы разыскали в архивах ФАО неопубликованные черно-белые фотографии и составили из них альбом, иллюстрирующий ранние годы становления Организации. Книга также представляет собой отчет о десяти важнейших достижениях ФАО, в числе которых: искоренение чумы крупного рогатого скота, подписание договора о генетических ресурсах растений, жизненно важное соглашение о сохранении биоразнообразия на планете и кодекс в едения ответственного рыболовства, необходимый для сохранения морской экосистемы.

The main tasks of the reclaimed and soil science have been formulated. It was noted that the radical and final reorientiring of the reclaimed and soil science as a whole in the country is necessary to working out the science methodology of support and effective functioning of the acting reclaimed complexes and systems. It is necessary to expand researches on microbiology, biochemistry and biophysics of agricultural lands with the purpose of the long-term strategy of the fertility, productivity and land immunity improvement.

One of the goals of a sustainable environment adopted in the United Nations General Assembly resolution (September 25, 2015) was «to restore degraded lands and strive to achieve a world neutral to land degradation». The problem was identified at the international and European level, but it is also a very pressing problem in Latvia. With regard to the risks of land degradation and their prevention in Latvia, the Law «On Land Management» came into force on January 1, 2015.

The research of information support of the system of cadastral estimation of the territory of settlements of Ukraine is carried out. It is proved that the cadastral valuation should be carried out using generalized characteristics of the cadastral quarters of the settlement. This approach allows not only to reduce the cost of creating a cadastral valuation system, but also differentiates it depending on the functional purpose of the territory.

In article is considered the existing system of documents of socio-economic planning of administrative and territorial units of the Republic of Belarus. The most important international a world-level document defining the policy of protecting land and soil is the UN Convention «On combating desertification/land degradation in countries experiencing drought and/or desertification». Latvia acceded to this Convention in 2002, undertaking to implement it requirements. With the introduction of the Convention, it is necessary to develop a national action program for restriction of land degradation, as well as develop new legislation and a long-term policy.
