    This Act provides for the management of public gardens, i.e. any land vested in the Commissioner of Lands, and designated by him or any entity acting on his behalf for use as public garden. It also prohibits various activities in such gardens and provides for seizure and impounding of stray animals. prohibited activities include: picking of fruits, plants or flowers; destroying of trees; and injuring of animals.

    This Act grants power to the Minister to declare an area to be a project area, so as to facilitate cadastral mapping and tenure clarification of that area, to exempt certain land from restrictions imposed by the Local Improvements Act, the Natural Resources Conservation Authority Act and the Town and Country Planning Act and to grant other exemptions regarding land registration and land tax.

    This Act establishes the Real Estate Board and provides rules for the registration and operation of real estate dealers, real estate salesmen and real estate developers. It also provides for certain matters regarding development schemes and for inspection by real estate inspectors. Engaging in real estate business for purposes of this Act includes lease of land and the management of land. The functions of the Board shall be to regulate and control the practice of real estate business, the disposition of land in development schemes and the operation of such schemes.

    This Act establishes the Urban Development Corporation, defines its functions and powers and provides for its administration and functioning.The Corporation shall be responsible for the laying out and development of areas designated by the Minister under this Act. The Corporation may acquire land in accordance with the Land Acquisition Act. The Act also concerns the sale or lease of any land vested in the Corporation, the development of water supply and sewerage services and the relationship between the Corporation and Statutory Undertakers.

    The 63 sections of the Act are divided into a title provision and 3 Parts: Public Water Supply (I); Jamaica Parishes Water Supply Loans (II); Miscellaneous Provisions (III). Part I is subdivided into the following headings: Construction of Works; Acquisition etc. of Land; Financial; Rates and Charges; Water Supply Accounts; Management; Legal; Offences etc.It shall be lawful for the Parish Council to apply to the Minister responsible for domestic water supplies to authorize construction of waterworks under this Act.

    This Act makes provision for the validation of development in the Negril and Green Island Area provisionally authorized by the Negril and Green Island Area Local Planning Authority in accordance with sections 5, 7 and 10 of the Town and Country Planning Act and pursuant to the Town and Country Planning (Negril and Green Island Area) Provisional Development Order, 1981. The Act also makes a consequential amendment to General Notice No. 215 of 2005.

    This Act imposes levies, duties and charges on land in relation with the development of or transactions in land in a Special Development Area, i.e. an area declared as such by the Minister pursuant to this Act. The Act also concerns the valuation of land for tax purposes, appeals against decisions of the Commissioner of Taxpayer Audit and Assessment with the Revenue Court and legal proceedings in respect of land for which no tax was paid.

    This Act makes provision for the appointment of Town and Country Planning Authority, the constitution of the Advisory Planning Committee and the establishment of the Compensation Assessment Board and provides rules relative to the development of land and related matters.The Act grants the power to the Authority to issue development orders and prescribes conditions and procedures for the preparation, confirmation and modification of such orders and of provisional development orders. Development orders shall provide rules for the development of land in a specified area.
