    The amendments of this Act to the Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1997, the Foreshore Act, 1933, and the Fishery Harbour Centres Act, 1968 concern the granting of a foreshore licence for aquaculture purposes under the Act of 1933, or a fish culture licence under section 15 of Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1997. These licences shall be deemed to an aquaculture licence granted under the Fisheries (Amendment) Act of 1997. Specific conditions are set out for the procedures of granting a foreshore licence deemed to be an aquaculture licence under the 1997 Act.

    This Act principally amends the Planning and Development Act, 2000 so as to, among other things, change the list of legal acts of the European Union given effect to by the principal Act and to provide for a wide variety of environmental protection measures in relation with planning and development including protection of habitats, landscape, water resources and biodiversity. The Planning and Development Act, 2000 and the Waste Management Act, 1996 are amended in relation with protection of European sites as defined by the principal Act.

    An Act to make provision for the granting of leases and licences in respect of foreshore belonging to Saorstát Eireann and to amend generally the law relating to foreshore and the seashore.

    Section 2 allows the Minister to grant leases on the foreshore in the public interest. "Foreshore" means the bed and shore, below the line of high water of ordinary or medium tides, of the sea and of every tidal river and tidal estuary and of every channel, creek and bay of the sea or of any such river or estuary. Every lease shall contain prescribed clauses or covenants as listed in section 2.

    The purpose of this Act is to regulate provisions regarding transfer of lands to individuals in order to make efficient use of water and fertile soil, as well as leading the country to self-sufficiency. In particular, it should be noted that rights of the people on fruitful lands should be respected. Exploitation of the natural woods and forests are exclusive rights of the Government. The Government may assign abandoned lands to individuals for agricultural purpose. Indigenous people and persons with knowledge in agriculture are considered as a priority.

    This Act provides for the significant reorganisation of local government structures and the strengthening of governance and accountability in local government. It, among other things: reformulates a new integrated county/sub-county relationship, with the establishment of a comprehensive and modern system of municipal governance; replaces the existing regional structures with new consolidated regional assemblies; provides for further devolution of functions from central level to local government.

    This Act amends the Planning and Development Act, 2000 so as to, among other things: insert a new provision in section 28 on Ministerial guidelines; insert a new provision in section 34 on assessment of applications for new development; provide for the making of the planning scheme following an appeal made under section 169; provide with respect to a determination by the Board whether the extent and character of the modification in a planning scheme would be likely to have a significant effect on the environment (within the meaning of Annex II of Directive 2001/42/EC) or on a European site;

    This Law, which consists of 8 articles, is codified to amend and add a number of supplementary provisions to the Law of 21 June 1995 on Preserving the Land Use of Farms and Gardens. The main rules of the afore-mentioned Law on Preserving the Land Use of Farms and Gardens remain unchanged and some detailed regulations have been amended or added by this Law. In particular, the Law adds 6 articles (articles 7 to 12) to the said Law. Accordingly, providing that any public service and infrastructure in farms and gardens may be allowed only after official authorization for land use change.

    The purpose of this Act, which consists of 14 Articles, is to determine the boundary of the coastal zone and inland as well as to regulate provisions regarding their ownership and use. According to the Act, any construction in the determined limit of the coastal zone and inland is prohibited unless for necessary public facilities. Any trespassing to these limits or any destruction of their current situation may lead to persecution by authorities.

    The purpose of this Law, which consists of 8 articles, is to prohibit any changes in land use of farms and gardens outside the limit of cities. The Act states that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development shall decrease urban development to the farms and gardens surrounding the cities and minimize changes in land use of farms and gardens inside urban areas.
