This article draws on actor network theory (ANT) and assemblage to interrogate the potential future manifestation of open conflicts due to unresolved latent local socio-economic and political grievances associated with oil exploitation near fishing communities and the implications of oil-related environmental degradation on local livelihoods in the Western Region of Ghana.

the context of agriculture in Ghana's Eastern Region.
Our work traces the connection from a set of complex and
explicitly negotiable property rights over land to
agricultural investment and, in turn, to agricultural
productivity. Using survey and focus group data, we find
that while the land tenure institutions may have some
benefits, they result in drastically lower productivity for
This Act regulates the (grant of) administration of real and personal estates of deceased persons. The Act also places restrictions on the disposal of such estates and provides for registration of documents and the handling of claims. An interest in property which cannot by law be disposed of by testamentary disposition is not property for the purpose of this Act. The President shall appoint a suitable person to be the Administrator-General for the purposes of this Act. Administration of intestate estates may be granted by the court to the Administrator-General.
An Act to consolidate with amendments the enactments relating to the administration of Stool and other lands.
This Act provides for the administration of Stool and other lands. It is divided into 2 Parts: Administration (I) (Stool land, Kumasi town lands, Lands generally, Revenues); Miscellaneous (II). Stool lands are defined as including land controlled by any person for the benefit of the subjects or members of a Stool clan, company or community, and all land in the Upper and Northern Regions other than land vested in the President and accordingly "Stool" means the person exercising such control (sect. 31).
