    This Act provides with respect to definition of tenancy rights in respect to agricultural holdings. A secure tenancy is a long term heritable tenancy with security of tenure and a succession right An agricultural holding is the consolidation of agricultural land, fixed equipment, house, buildings, in any tenancy arrangement between a landlord and a tenant farmer.

    The Act consists of 95 sections divided into 8 Parts. In Chpater I of Part I the various types of agricultural tenancy are defined. Chapter 2 contains general provision as to new types of tenancy. Part 2 provides for the tenant's right to buy land. Part III concerns diversification of use of land under agricultural tenancy. A tenant under a tenancy mentioned in section 39(1) who intends to use the land for a non-agricultural purpose must send a notice to the landlord. The landlord may object to the notice of diversification under certain circumstances (sect. 40).

In doing so, the Act provides the principal legislative components of a new, integrated, system for nature conservation within Scotland. The Act also locates the conservation of biodiversity and of Scotland's natural environment within a wider British, European and global context.

    This Act provides for measures against erosion and encroachment of the coast of Great Britain by the sea. Part I of this Act provides for the protection of the coast. In sections 1 to 3 it provides for the administration relative to coast protection. It appoints the council of each maritime county, borough or county district as coast protection authority for its territory. Section 2 concerns the constitution of coast protection boards for areas to be specified by the Minister. Section 3 provides for joint committees of coast protection authorities.

    Part 1 establishes a right to be on land for recreational, educational and certain other purposes and a right to cross land. The rights exist only if they are exercised responsibly. Some of the provisions for that purpose are also extended in relation to rights of way and other rights. Part 1 imposes certain duties on local authorities in relation to access on and over land in their areas and, in particular, requires them to draw up and adopt a plan of core paths in their areas.

    The Act concerns local government in Wales. It mainly concerns reform (merger) of local authorities in Wales and amends existing legislative provision in the Local Government (Wales) Measure 2011 and the Local Government (Democracy) (Wales) Act 2013. This Act makes provision for, and in connection with, the merger of two or more existing principal areas into a single new principal area, with a new principal local authority.

    The Act consists of 125 sections divided into 5 Parts: The Environment Agency and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (I); Contaminated Land and Abandoned Mines (II); National Parks (III); Air Quality (IV); Miscellaneous, General and Supplemental Provisions (V).The Environment Agency and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency are established as a body corporate. The Environment Agency shall inherit functions of the various environment protection authorities including the National Rivers Authority and the London waste Authority, both abolished by this Act. (sect. 2).

The provisions of this Part of this Act shall have effect for the purpose of conserving and enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the protected areas. The Act provides for establishment, management and conservation of national parks and nature reserves and for compulsory acquisition of land for purposes of this Act. The Act also concerns public rights of way and access to open country.

    This Act provides with respect to the acquisition of land on the basis of a resolution of Tynwald for public purposes and compensation in relation with such acquisition. It, among other things, sets out the procedure for authorising compulsory purchase; requires disputes to be solved by an established procedure which includes arbitration; provides for acquisition by agreement; purchase or redeem of the interest of the mortgagee of any of the land; presumption of planning approval (also in respect of land used for agricultural purposes).
